How do I get local hi-def tv channels when my dish provider does not have them?

Question by Scott G: How do I get local hi-def tv channels when my dish provider does not have them?
I recently subscribed to dish network. They don’t carry my local channels in hi-def. How do I go about getting these channels so I can benefit from having my HDTV?

If your set has an HD tuner, just put up an antenna. For locations of nearby stations in your area, just go to http://www.antennaweb.org

  1. Go get them indoor/outdoor antenna at your local radio shack. Plug it into the back of your receiver (TV antenna cable in)…
Now turn on TV and receiver and press “menu” on your dish remote. Go to “system setup” then “local channels.” Then go to “scan locals” and it should automatically scan for your local HD network… GL!
