Question by : Sharp 26″ LED 1080p Vs LG 32″ LED 720p?
We recently bought a Sharp 26″ LCD-LED 1080P, 60 Hz and friends n family are really insisting that we should go for a larger screen size even if the resolution is less.
We loooovvvvve the picture quality on Sharp which is currently set up in our small bedroom, but still toying with the idea of exchanging it with an LG 32″ LCD-LED 720p, 60 Hz for a hike of $ 80 only. Would that be worth it or would we be disappointed with picture quality especially on the larger 32″ screen? Our living room where the TV would eventually be set up is fairly large and has a huge window with lots of sunlight during the day (I dont know if this matters for picture clarity, but just sayin it)

For any TV under 40 inches, 720p is sufficient… 1080p is for TV’s that are larger in size. You will not see the difference between 720p and 1080i below 37 inches.. LG is far better quality than Sharp.!

Q&A: What are some of the best 32″ LCD TV’s brands and prices?

Question by Giggs J10: What are some of the best 32″ LCD TV’s brands and prices?
Im going to buy a 32″ LCD tv and im wondering what brand or what model I should get 720p or 1080p and all of that other good stuff.

Best answer:

Answer by jf
Most consumer and guru guides will tell you that at 32″ all you need is a good brand and good model, but basic LCD. So that means a CCFL LCD of 720p and 60Hz. You just won’t see the advantages of the higher end features. If you end up with any better features in your budget, or with the TV you really want, hey great, they won’t hurt your viewing experience. But general consensus is that you won’t get the bang for your buck at all if you pay extra for them.

The big name brands at that size are Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony first and foremost. I would start with those 3 and then maybe work my way out. After those 3 you can look at Sharp Aquos, LG, and Toshiba primarily.

Models (right now @ Best Buy)

Panasonic TC-L32X1 – on sale for $ 478, normally $ 600
Samsung LN32B460 – on sale for $ 552, normally $ 650
Sony KDL-32L5000 – on sale for $ 480, normally $ 548

I’m a personal fan of the Panasonic. I think it has better color and blacks than the other two. But that is purely an aesthetic/personal taste thing. You do need to go check out the models in a store and see which on your eye likes best.

If you do want to make a spalsh, and get a “loaded” 32″ set, then perhaps look at,

Samsung LN32B640 – on sale for $ 800, normally $ 1,100
- but again, I think that’s overkill for a 32″ set.

Normally, a set that size is 720p…..You would see little to no difference at that size.!! 1080p is almost always for HDTV’s above 37 inches in size…I would not waste money on a 32 inch HDTV that was 1080p….(Most TV stations are in 1080i…and many use 720p with multi-channels, due to bandwidth issues.)
